MY COMMENTS ON THESE WORDS
This list does not seem to be too difficult! All four
words are familiar to me and I understand the meaning of each.
That doesn’t mean to say I have really used them,
though. Actually I don’t think I have ever had cause to write something in
English using these words.
I have used two of them in Spanish when writing up
educational materials for schools that I have directed in Chile. These words
are “Beligerante” and “Bovino”, the Spanish equivalents of the
English words.
This is good news for Spanish speakers, the words
would be easy to understand and interpret.
I have read historical texts in English where the
nobility “Bestow” this and that, but I have never used it myself.
Now “Bask” is a different case altogether. Travel agencies
frequently invite their potential clients to “come and bask in the sun on the
lovely beaches…”
Well, all four words are on the lists for the graduate
entry tests, so study them up and try and use them!
This will surely increase your score!
See you on the next post!
