MY COMMENTS ON THESE WORDS

Well, once again I have to say that I knew all these four words!

The only one I have never used either in speaking or in writing is “Raiment” the others can be very useful to express some ideas.

For instance, “Ramshackle” is such a satisfying word! It almost paints a picture in your mind of something very badly put together, or at least not very stable! A colorful word, that one!

“Rectify” is also useful, especially in accounting when you have to rectify some mistake.

And “Roster”, well we live our lives in a society that is constantly putting our names down on lists, and thus constructing innumerable rosters! And we try to keep track of them all, but it gets more and more difficult as your age advances, because the rosters that have your name increase by the minute, especially if you use the Internet a lot!

As for the passwords that give you access to all these lists and rosters, well that’s another problem. I have a special copybook where I try to write them all down, but there’s sure to be one I need urgently, and that’s the one I don’t have and I don’t remember! Does this sound familiar?

There’s good news for Spanish speakers here! The word rectificar is almost the same as rectify, and it has the same meaning.

So study up your words from the GRE list, this will help you achieve a higher score on any graduate entry test!

See you in the next post!
